Sunset Kino – Peter Miller
26. 8. 26, 9 p.m.
Peter Miller invites you to come and watch some films from the past sixteen years as well as the past 14 days. As always, he offers his iron-clad money-back guarantee. He will show a film and say some things and then show more films and maybe sing. It should be fun!
SET, 16mm, 2016, silent, 10 min
For this found footage animated film I downloaded photographs of the sunset, adjusted each one and arranged them in order, setting into motion a singular, colossal, collective sunset.
Photuris, 16mm, 2014, silent, 7 min
A 16mm film in three parts. A black tube is threaded with a string, which is then replaced with film. The night arrives in the woods bringing with it various points of light. Fireflies mark their way along the film, leaving behind a flurry of colors and forms.
Chladni Scheme, 16mm, 2009, sound, 11 min
When this film is projected, a portion of each image is reproduced as optical sound. The film is a composition, an arrangement, but not one that is strictly from visual to aural, or the other way around, but for both of these senses at the same time.
A Film That Cleans Your Eyes, 16mm, 2010, silent, 3 min
It does! This film is from “Panacea,” a cycle of useful films.
Movies with Live Soundtrx, 2004, Video, Live Sound, 20 min
Artist performs live music to projected videos.
THE END, 16mm, 2026, sound, 6 min
Spoiler: it’s actually a beginning.
A Film That Did Not Exist When This Program Was Being Planned But Will Be The 26th of August 2026 I Promise
16mm, 2026, sound, 10 min
It will be easier to describe after we’ve seen it... or maybe it won’t?
